wouldn't the whole engine knock off if that were the case?
I'm sure he means that the resistance on the blower pulley becomes so great that the belt just begins to slip on that ONE pulley, not slipping off.

It depends on how great the resistance and how much friction the belt has on the pulley. This can be increased with an idler pulley mounted so the belt can wrap around 3/4 of the pulley. What he's saying is he doesn't know how he's going to approach mounting the new idler on to increase this belt contact.

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

Why don't you just try switching to a cogged pulley setup and use a small cogged belt?

It might be cheaper in the long run to order cogs rather than pulleys and I doubt it would ever slip unless the accessory drive does.
Hell you could even just run a long one from the front of the crank and may a bolt on piece for you harmonic balancer. Then no issues with reliability on the rest of the serpentine system.

A cogged setup puts much more strain on the supercharger head unit. Vortech voids warranties for cog setups unless you have a heavy duty head unit. I'm going to add an idler pulley which should solve the issue.

Dropping the car and idler pulley off at my machine shop today so they can fab up a bracket for the idler. Cross your fingers

I still wanna get one of these. I can't wait until you get all the details figured out. Thanks! And good luck!
