Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

Good stuff. I look forward to seeing those numbers so I can decided if I want to put one of these in my cougar on the brand new SVT engine I have in her.

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

Nope, waiting for parts from the machine shop. Went to pick them up yesterday but they missed something on the design so they need to machine them a bit more.

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

Question for you, sorry if this was answered already: if one were to purchase a kit for a 2.5L, how much would change to make it usable on a 3L later? (Probably not much, I'd guess...)

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

There would only be minor changes to the intake piping IF you had a full 3L. With a ported 3L there would be no difference.

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

Update:

I recently changed to 42lb injectors on my car because I was noticing the 19's were starting to lean out at the top of the RPM range. I had to work through my SCT software but I was able to get things going after finding a file on the SCT site for the 42lb injectors. I also switched to the smallest pulley vortech makes 2.62" to increase the boost to around 12psi. It seems like I'm running into a belt slip issue after about 6psi. I don't think its a tension issue because the belt is very tight. I'm guessing I've reached the limits of what you can do with two pulleys (one main drive pulley and the supercharger pulley). I suppose that is why most have idler pulleys for more belt wrap. The recent delays have mostly been because I can't figure out where I want to go from here. I don't want to sell a kit that may have belt slip issues. There are some major room constraints so a idler setup is going to be difficult to add. I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Chris

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

24lb injectors would be fine. I do have a bottle of belt dressing which would probably stop any slip but it seems like a temporary fix.

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

now.. i am not sure if i totally understand belt slipping...
ur saying at top RPM.... the belt is in spinning motion with the pulleys ( correct me if i am wrong which i am sure i am).. Altanator, A/C, Crank, Power sterring, and the SC pulley.... the belt just slips off?
wouldn't the whole engine knock off if that were the case?
