There is definately not enough room back there unless the piping was all ovaled out so the hood could still close. Running the piping down through the front of the car is so people can easily install an intercooler if they want to increase boost. My 3L is already getting 7psi with a fairly large pulley so power will not be a problem.

I found a Contour SVT owner here in MN that wants a kit installed so I'll be using his car to get some 2.5L SVT numbers up. I'll probably have my car dynoed at the same time so we can get some 3.0L numbers. I'll post up more info when I get some.

I'm thinking this would be a cool (hehe) use of peltiers.

You could if there was heat to sink. The air isn't hot hence no IC.

Re: Interest in Supercharger setup

This is what I found on there site:

Quote:
Are Vortech supercharger systems emissions legal?
Unless otherwise noted, all Vortech supercharger systems are 50-state emission legal. The California Air Resource Exemption Number of each Vortech supercharger is stamped on the serial number identification tag. You can also check the Internet for the latest exemption numbers at http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/devices.htm (after selecting this web site, select the device type "supercharger system").
Searching the site listed above does still list the 99-02 Cougar. You may pass with flying colors because there is a serial tag on each headunit and if that's the tag they are talking about it may have a carb cert. They also have a part number listed for the original kit but that part number isn't on the kits anywhere so I'm not sure how they would know the difference.

Do you have any idea how much heat peltiers produce on the hot side and hoe much power one that is substantial in size would be pulling. Good idea all in all but just not practical.

You could always manipulate a IC cooling system (ie CO2 spray) to work and just spray the pipe and cool the air a little if you are really trying to get the air near or below ambient.
