Potential FL Moderators - please reply here

Only those of you interested in being a moderator of Florida NECO should reply here. Once we have a group of candidates, we will start another thread to let everyone vote.

First off, please read the FastCougar.com Rules Policies and Disclaimers thoroughly. If you feel you may have a hard time adhering to and enforcing any of those, you should not be a moderator. Also, moderators must at least log on to the message boards every four days, so you'll need to maintain a certain amount of activity to be a moderator. Moderators need to be objective and should not be openly argumentative, confrontational or emotional. You want to be able to calm situations, not fuel them. This is a position of responsibility and if you are the type of person that comes on the boards just bs and shoot the breeze, you may not like it.

Okay that being said, if you feel you can handle moderator responsibilities in Florida NECO, reply here once and explain why you feel that way. Once all the potential candidates have replied here we'll lock this thread and let everyone use it as a reference before they vote. Sound democratic enough?

This is intended to fill the moderator position that I will be leaving.

As I have said in the previous thread referencing the future of FLNECO, I feel that I would be great for this position. I am EXTREMELY active on the boards and with in the FLNECO community. I have had ZERO confrontations with any members. As some of the other FLNECO community can vouch for, when people have been in fights or arguments with each other, I have maintained a neutral position, and tried to get them to resolve their differences

I know this seems kinda short compared to the rest of my previous posts regarding the whole situation goin down but "in closing" I'd like to be on the pole for the second mod position

I am interested ONLY IF we are voting for TWO NEW moderators like a democratic society. As i have said before, I am already a moderator and KNOW how to be one. I could be a valuable asset to the 2 member team of moderators. I may have a reputation as a smartass, but i also have a reputation as a VERY good moderator in Garage Talk. Feel free to ask my co-moderator there (Phantom) or any of the Admin. I guarantee they will back me on my judgement.

However, if we are going to treat this process like a dictatorship and have one member assign a moderator that has barely been active on the boards, has been a coordinator since last year and hasnt "coordinated" anything since last halloween, and hasnt been to more than 4 meets in a year, then i am not going to run against Chris because i would like to see him be one of the two. HE deserves it due to the reasons he has stated above and in his other posts regarding this subject.

Final summary: Democracy - vote for our moderators, the people should be heard!!!

I must agree with Doug in this matter. I respect Murphy's Judgement in every way and would love to become a moderator, but I also feel that it should be a complete democracy for both positions if we plan on voting, if not then I think that Murphy should just appoint another Moderator. With that said if we take a vote for both Moderator positions:

I feel that I am fully qualified to fill a position as Moderator. I have been here since the very begining of FLNECO and have been an Active member ever since. I check the boards at least once a day and I can't even stay away from them even when I am on vacation. I have never once had a conflict with any other member of FLNECO or NECO in general. I enjoy the boards with a passion only sermised by few other members and I believe that I will make a great moderator.

The best chapter in NECO could only be RUN by the BEST leaders in History!!

MURPHY AND WENDY WE to the job you have done!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I make light of a lot of things but I'm being serious here...I consider you guys my friends but you're honestly making me sick with your "campaigns"...I know a lot of the "behind the scenes" stories about all of you and Murphy doesn't...Everyone is putting in there little digs towards the other person and it's wrong...I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for FlNeco.

Fred, I know where you are coming from on this.. and I agree to a degree.....but we were asked to "explain why we feel we should be candidates" so in some sense that is "Campaigning"

On that note...i am officially taking my name down as potential moderator because this is turning into BS and is dragging the good name of FL NECO down. My support now goes to Chris (loyalty) and James (batcougar) for the 2 positions that we should be democratically electing.

If Murphy is stepping down as president and moderator, WE as a group should be able to vote on how WE want to have OUR boards controlled. If that means 2 new moderators, then so be it. I just want to see the 2 people i think are best suited to the position and i dont believe we have achieved either of those yet.

This whole thing is crazy!....Morph just pick two people and lets get on with life. Everyone knows who would make good Moderators. We are acting like we are giving two people the power to rule the world. Do not get me wrong I love the club and stuff but come on...do we have to go through elections for "Hall Monitors".
