Most people are already aware of these things, but just a reminder make sure your you car is up to par to pass tech inspection, and make sure you pack and are wearing the proper clothing and footwear.
For cougar owners this normally means closed toe shoes, and pants(ie not sandals or shorts).
National Trails - Drag Strip
They follow the NHRA saftey guidelines so if you need more info you can look it up.
Shoes and pants are required, unless you have some type of forced induction then you should not need a helmet if you are driving a cougar(13.99 seconds or faster). Even well tuned 3L generally do not hit below 14 seconds unless you have prepped your car for the strip, then you are probably well aware of the safety requirements. I will have my helmet with me in case Matt wants to break in his new Challenger properly, or anyone else finds that they need it. Your battery needs to be properly secured, and you should not be leaking any fluids. If you have relocated your battery to the trunk you need an easily accessible cut of switch on the exterior of your car. For most people that should be all you need to worry about.
For both performance and safety requirements, remove all loose items from you car. Most people like to remove their spare tire, and any other excess weight that is easily removed. I would recommend doing this before leaving the hotel so you don't have to worry about anything getting stolen at the track.
Unless you are running slicks or drag radials its probably best to leave you tires properly inflated. If you do choose to air them down, do NOT air them down significantly you will just destroy the sidewalls of you tires.
For those people running Nitrous be sure your setup will pass inspection. I won't go into more detail then that, because you probably already know them.
Again please follow all track safety guidelines, and have a good time. If you have a question just ask. Don't assume anything particularly if this is your first time at the track, you are among friends so just ask.
Autocross
Although United Ford Owners does not specify that you need to wear pants and shoes for Autocross, I would plan to wear them, and you can change into shorts if they are okay with it.
Here are the rest of their requirements.
-Vehicle must pass safety inspection
-Hubcaps, trim rings, and centercaps must be removed
-Any vehicle may be refused for failing inspection
-Vehicle must have a closed exhaust, no open pipes
-Seat belt use mandatory
-Participants must sign waiver
-Helmet use mandatory
-Batteries must be secured
-No loose items anywhere
-Absolutely no alcohol
The United Ford Owners reserves the right to refuse any driver or vehicle
Again I will have my helmet that I'm willing to share when I'm not using it, as well as UFO said that would have a few extra helmets.
Pretty much the same car prep requirements/recommendations as the drag strip, but you will definitely want to double check you lug nuts, and from what I recall from Jason you will want to air up your tires to 40psi or higher IIRC. Again you can run a stock air pressure, but airing up will help reduce tire sidewall flex which should help with your cornering.
Again please follow all track safety guidelines, and have a good time. If you have a question just ask. Don't assume anything particularly if this is your first time at the track, you are among friends so just ask.
