    Re: Cougarfest 2010 Location Vote

I have no problem with any of them, they all look great, but it looks like Columbus is pretty rigidly set for the 14th-17th, which will be hard for me to make with my current work schedule, whereas placing it on the 7th-10th I have that whole week off school and probably work to prep the Cougar. I'll have to see how many classes I'm honestly taking at the time too. Either way, I don't care where it is, if I can make it without missing too many classes, I'll be there.

and i just noticed that i left out the NY proposal, Im not sure how i did that, i went over things too quickly i guess. i can restart the poll if thundercat really wants me to, but i can almost assure him that it would not get many votes. so sorry thundercat, pm me if you want me to redo the poll

    Re: Cougarfest 2011 Location Vote

Stuart, the issue with the 7-10th date was the annual Good Guys car show in Columbus. It basically takes over the entire city on that weekend every year, so we can't book enough rooms in the city on that particular weekend.

Not sure if those two weekends are being viewed as the only options or not, but let's not constrain ourselves too early. I know it has recently been in early/mid-July, but CF used to be in late Jul and I think it should still be considered an option.

    Re: Cougarfest 2011 Location Vote

Sigh. This was a hard one. Either Columbus or Harrisburg would be great. I told Erica yesterday that if Harrisburg meant I'd have the Cougar and Columbus didn't (because most likely she'd have to drive it...or the camper), I'd really prefer Harrisburg. But she wants Columbus - Ohio State grad - and I'm hoping I can get her comfortable enough with the Cougar by then to drive it that far, or perhaps we can rent a trailer for it.

We also talked about a day trip to Cedar Point, and another day trip to Jackson Center (where they make Airstreams). I don't know whether either of those will come to pass.

So, I voted Columbus. But believe me, I'm very, very torn. It's almost enough to make me wish I had the tow dolly again...

Columbus is getting my vote merely because I'm not sure about the 13+ hour drive to Harrisburg. I didn't realize how far it was.

    Re: Cougarfest 2011 Location Vote

For clarification, the price I was quoted from the hotel for the Columbus, OH proposal is for July 14-17, but later in the month would probably be a possibility as well, but I'm not sure if that would cause the price to fluctuate. Unfortunately the first two weekends in July are not an option because of the holiday, and then the Good Guys car show is the second weekend. The Good Guys show is gigantic and basically books up every hotel in and around Columbus for that weekend.

    Faster then Andy this week.
