Does car wax expire?

I have some Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell wax from a bunch of years back. There is no expiry date on the bottle and I think we've only used it once.
I want to use it on my rims but I dont know if it's still okay or not... comments?
The bottle is basically full.
(Its not the bottle that you can find on google now, its the older version)
I know this was a high quality wax so thats why I am asking, because if its still fine, and wont damage my rims, there is no point in getting another bottle.

Re: Does car wax expire?

it should be fine, test it on a small part of the rim to make sure

Re: Does car wax expire?

often many waxes will separate over time... so a good rigorous shaking (liquid) or mixing (paste) is a good idea.

That being said, the separation may cause some drying and flaking to occur, so the wax may not be "clean" anymore. It also may not be as good as it was when it was new.

Also, I have found that when using older waxes, they often don't apply or remove as well as they did when they were brand new.

It's up to you...

Re: Does car wax expire?

yeah, I was kind of curious about this too... I usually just keep a close eye on the sales and pick up fresh bottles of everything every year.

Re: Does car wax expire?

the best kind of wax to use is a boat wax called Collinite they use it on like power wires and baots so its a GREAT sealant.

But waxes do not expire as long as it isnt hard.

It just makes them easier to clean later.
