There are at least two types of acidic wheel cleaners and many different formulas -- look at the label to ensure compatibily with your finish -- generally they're either chrome-only or everything-else. One of the better over-the-counter wheel cleaners I've used isn't acidic, but alkaline -- Eagle One All Wheel & Tire Cleaner -- works like a charm and is safe for most all auto wheels, chrome or factory coated. |
