Really good trim restoration
So the other day I was in Strauss auto and saw this stuff called Black Jack Black Again. Figured what the hell Ill give it a shot. The kid who rang me up saw it and said "I use this ****, its awesome". So today I decide to put a quick coat of it on the passenger trim which is horribly oxidized and gotta say it already looks pretty damn good compared to before. Instructions say to leave in in direct sunlight after applying since apparently UV light is an activator of some sort. Anyway after a few hours ill get out a camera to post the results.

Re: Really good trim restoration
did you do any prep work on the trim before applying? (like sanding it or something?)

Re: Really good trim restoration
You can't sand the trim man.
It's soft rubber/plastic, you'll scratch the crap out of it and be screwed at that point.E1

Re: Really good trim restoration
Sorry about the delay in pictures...anyway this is taken a day later. It didn't completely hide the oxidation but definitely improved the look of the trim. Much darker then it was before and the oxidation is less noticeable. As for prep, there isnt any needed. Just wipe on and let sit in direct sun. All in all this is much better then mothers back to black. I would recommend using it.

Re: Really good trim restoration
Its not a spray can. Its a liquid that you apply onto the trim. Just use a sponge applicator or something. Just wipe the residue off of the paint if you get it on there.
As for where you get it I found it at a Strauss Auto. Dunno if they are around your areas they might just be a NJ thing. But there has to be someplace else that sells it. A quick google search has this place Black Again Rubber Renew |
