That would be a pretty funny sight, but that type of thing has been done - take a look at my avatar: back in the 70s, they really did hook an Airstream trailer up to a bike and have a guy pull it to show how light and easy to tow they are. (I have an Airstream motorhome, however.)

I'm picking up the tow dolly after work today! I'm going to pull the Cougar on to it and take a pic with my camera phone to show how things should've looked last week. (I'm also going to make sure that the bumper isn't going to catch on anything before I pull it off...it shouldn't be a problem with a stock bumper, but I'll check anyway. I don't want to recreate Brad's experience - it was painful enough when it was someone else's car.)

Wrong again, Mr. Marquette. It wasn't funny at all. (And no, I was nowhere near as calm about it as Brad was.)

This tow dolly is really starting to piss me off.

When I got home, I did a quick comparison of the heights of the Impala and the Cougar, and guess what? I think the Impala will hit the damn thing, too. If the Impala can't make it up there either, what car can?

The good news is that the Cougar I think is easily fixable - a new bumper cover and a new black plastic protector (whatever that thing is). How hard are the bumper covers to swap? I'm thinking it might be worthwhile to get one myself, have it painted, then swap it myself - it can't be more than a few screws holding it in, right?

P.S. A few more pics here, including two of the scrapes on the tow dolly as a result.

Yeah, my paint job is shot all around. If it's not chipped, it's faded badly, or it's dented. The joy of red paint...

I would get this fixed and have the whole car painted, but quite frankly I just don't have the money right now. Expenses are piling up much faster than I've been able to pay them off. (It goes without saying that I really didn't want to spend a couple hundred bucks on the Cougar right now.)
