    Calling all AZ NECO'ers!

It seems our little corner of the NECO world has become very quiet lately. Byrd has seem to have gone AWOL on us (if someone can please update us, it would be greatly appreciated. Trying to do anything without any type of leadership is very difficult.), and I know Jason is being deployed out early next month for Japan, and after that returning home to MD. Ken has been doing a lot of travelling lately as well. We picked up a few new members a couple months back, but haven't seen them lately. Did we lose them in the forum transfer?

I really would love to have a flourishing AZ NECO, and would do just about anything to help us get there. What do you guys think should be done or shouldn't be done to help us expand? What do you think is being done right/wrong? I'm very open to criticism here, if you guys feel I'm not doing something right. Some Specifics I know need to be addressed:

    1. Moderator: If Byrd's gone, we need to get someone in to take his place. I initially thought Jason would be the heir apparent, but now circumstances look like he won't be with us much longer either, since he will be going back home to marylnd once his deployment is over. I personally would be willing to take on those responsibilities, but I realize I have kinda "stirred the pot" with some NECO members, and that may not float over very well. If any of you other guys are also willing, please say so. I'm open to all options.

    2. Meets: In the past, IMO we've negected the members from outside Phoenix. We have yet to hold a meet outside PHX (with the exception of Vegas last year), and I've seen some hostility from that. I have absolutly no problems with a meet elsewhere in the state, since I believe I'm the only PHX guy left. I think our next meet should be in the Tucson area, or wherever else you guys think it should be. Please let me know what you guys think about that.

    3. "Advertising": I know I've slacked on the website. I will take full responsibility for that. I'm hoping to get that taken care of very soon. A huge thanks to NorCalCoug, who's left the site up on his server. I will get all that taken care of very soon, I can promise you that. On the same subject, we've talked in the past about getting stickers, shirts, business cards, and other stuff going, but none of that really came thru. We had stickers, but the two cars that had them are both gone. I would love to get flyers made to give to people we see that we can possibly "recruit" into the group.

Also keep in mind that we had previously opened up the group to include Contour's and Mystiques, so if any of you guys know anyone who drives one of those cars, they're welcome in the group too! Greg, do you know anyone over on the CEG boards that would like to join?

Basically, please tell what you would like to see happen to keep this group from falling apart. I don't wanna see that happen, and would do basically anything to help.

And now back to our regularly scheduled sleeping.....

I might be able to sport a sticker or two on the C2... I don't want stickers on her, but it's for a good cause. I won't lie, I probably wouldn't wear a shirt. I'll get a newcougar.org license plate frame when I get the drift kit.

There's a couple other cougars on base, but I only see them in passing. I've actually seen another 2-3 in town... as I passed 'em.

I can be a mod. I've done it before on another forum, and I'm on here practically every day (I'll let you know if that changes, like once I go back to my normal job... I'm the squadron ordering ***** for the next about 5 months), so that's covered.

Now meets, I still gotta work on that...

If we could get enough people, we could have two mods. The reason we only had one was that "we didn't have enough members". If we had more people from all across the state, we could have a "Southern AZ" mod and a "northern AZ" mod.

As far as stickers go, I'm not talking HEUUUGEE stickers. I was thinking something along the lines of 15" wide x 3" high. Something that would fit nicely along the 1/4 side windows, without being overly obnoxioius.

Meets, don't worry yourself over those right away. I don't think we would do something until January or so anyways, especially as soon as I get my car running again. Like I said, something in Tucson would be cool. Its about the same distance from both PHX and Yuma, so thats cool. Not to mention my mom and sister live down there too, so it would give me an excuse to visit with them too.

My girl wants to go to Tuscon, I think she's got friends there. So, maybe so... I'll try.

My thinking cap is on, although my energy is limited... I'll post if I come up with anything creative.
