Re: Dimming/Pulsing Lights FAQ/Overview STICKIE PLEASE
Great thanks.
Maybe you should get the Admin to see if they can host those pics on here. I notice alot of pictures disappear on this site after a while. And this is a must have. |

Re: Dimming/Pulsing Lights FAQ/Overview STICKIE PLEASE
Did this on the weekend and WOW what a PITA if you have sausage fingers/hands....
I ended up breaking the grey clip and fabing up a new clip. I'd recomend doing this when replacing the alternator... |

Re: Dimming/Pulsing Lights FAQ/Overview STICKIE PLEASE
May I ask what the point of taking the small single wire connector off is?
EDIT:: just kidding. so you can pull the clips up top for easy wire modification. lol yes george, i know im retarded. |

Re: Dimming/Pulsing Lights FAQ/Overview STICKIE PLEASE
So, my cougar has been dying on me occasionally after coasting for a while, or just randomly at the occasional stop light. Some times the interior lights just dim a little and the engine almost quits then revs itself. Just tonight I put a volt meter on there and it sat at 14.1 when running if I gave it gas or not. Dropped off to 13.5 or .4 when the car was off. So is it time for a alt replacement, or just the crappy wires and the cold weather in WI effecting it? thanks

Re: Dimming/Pulsing Lights FAQ/Overview STICKIE PLEASE
Ummm... Voltage should only be sitting at 12.6???? And that's fully charged.

Re: Dimming/Pulsing Lights FAQ/Overview STICKIE PLEASE
amps or Volts? thats a normal voltage for a running car. Thats a serious issue if its amps.
If so its likely you blew your alt fuse or something else is wrong. Oh ya and i still strongly suggest not doing this mod in this fashion. It makes no allowances for load, and is not a propper fix. Though i do agree a new sensing wire needs to be run, i dont feel this is a good location, only an easy one.

Re: Dimming/Pulsing Lights FAQ/Overview STICKIE PLEASE
alright, i read through the 15 pages How To: Fix dimming lights/gauges
then finally found pics in this thread! i have this problem on my '02 and there was only one post about an '02 in all of this. i haven't looked at my wiring yet but has anyone had this problem or done this fix to an '02? i read there is only 2 wires in that connector, i'm hoping that one is red.. |
