How to make fronts and rears louder?
I have MB Quart 5.25" components up front, infinity kappa 5x7's in back. The MB Quarts arent rated very high as far as power handling and will be replaced soon, but a question on the rear - The infinitys are rated at 100w rms. Now I have an alpine 2 ch amp powering the kappas, the amp does 50w rms. Now I know thats not full capacity and also I know more power less distortion usually, but when I hooked up the amp, I only have my gain setup a little below the default, anything higher and it distorts? Can anyone tell me whats up? Is it just the case of still too little power?
Thanks for any help.

RE: How to make fronts and rears louder?
you can try adjusting the gain to match te output voltage of your deck(most are 2 volts) Then try tuning it. Before you go adjusting the gain make sure your levels are all at 0. Bass 0 Treble 0. That way you have a base to work from once you get started. For more info, try doing a search for amp setup or gain matching..I kow there were some discussions over the last 6 months on ths.
