Problems with my Kicker L7

So recently I started to hear this really annoying rattle coming from the trunk (I drive a Explorer Sport so the trunk is right there and I hear every rattle ) so I started looking around and came to realize that one of the corners of the sub is loose, and its spreading more and more, now I went to 2 audio store and one of them told me that I might have to send it back to kicker and they will change the cone witch I really don’t want to do. My question is: is there a kit that I can buy or something that I can use to glue it back together. I looked around I can’t find any kits for the L7’s
Thank you

Re: Problems with my Kicker L7

is it the surround or the cone?
With my type R the surround started to come off the basket, I did some research and was told that a good 2 part epoxy would do the job holding it back together.
It's held up for a good 3 months with heavy use now. Just have to be careful getting in there with the epoxy, its easy to pull more of the surround off. And make sure to clean the old glue off and clamp it down with something.

It's the surround, the rubber that you see when u look directly at the sub. i think i mite have to take the hole thing apart and redo it. i will have to try that out. thanks

Re: Problems with my Kicker L7

dude, stop! is the speaker still under its factory warranty? if so, tampering with it at all will void your warranty!!! kicker doesn't send your speaker back, they take it and send you another!!! and if the shop is worth a damn, they'll take your sub, (if under warranty) and give you another and you're done... of course if they aren't you'll have to wait for kicker to send a woofer back...

Re: Problems with my Kicker L7

doh! don't just epoxy it, get a piece of rubber from another toasted woofer (pref an L7) longer than the original cut... take the woofer out, turn it over, on the inside of the rubber surround, take a lil bit of sand paper and rough the area up around the rip, same with your "patch" piece, then epoxy/superglue or w/e you're gonna use the patch on.... if done right you'll never ever see the tear in the surround...
