Where is a good ground location?
I had my system grounded to my taillight bolt, which i realize was a bad idea, i got alternator whine and popping when i stepped on the brakes. So, i tried grounding it with the factory ground, which is no better, tried putting a bolt in the spare tire well and grounding it there... again, no luck. I was thinking maybe i had a bad RCA cable, but the person at best buy who i talked to said it was my ground, even though i've heard that these rca cables get alot of interference. And i don't have a ground loop, as i only have one amp and a cap, and they're grounded at the same place. Help is much appreciated!

Re: Where is a good ground location?
When I installed my Basslink sub/amp combo in the hatch, I grounded it to an existing ground wire/bolt on the driver side rear, just to the side of the black plastic trim piece, under the fabric covering. Never had a problem with whine or popping.
Then when I later added a battery relocation to the other side of the hatch, I grounded the battery negative cable to the large bolt that holds the child safety seat brackets, under the black plastic trim piece on the rear. Make sure you use some sandpaper or something to take it down to bare metal before attaching the wire.
