Re: Alternator Whine

Sorry man my pioneer deck broke...because it was junky and had a motorized face anyways....yes ive had the whine for 2 years now...but i never did anything about it...now have i had any good idea of how to fix it...But honestly im just fed up with the noise...Its freeking loud...The amp was stolen so i havent had an amp in forever i still have my sub and my ugly duckling box they couldnt steal because it was too freaking heavy...Anyways the noise is just annoying...Im gonna try re routing my power wire and see if it helps any if it does i will let you guys know...Other than that i have no idea how to get rid of the noise...I guess i could move the battery back up front but its soo nice having it in the trunk..It makes alot more room under the hood. Sorry if i didnt answer everyones questions and thanks for the input...

Re: Alternator Whine

try a new ground point... just for giggles... do you have an ohm meter? if you do, ohm from your negative contact on your battery, to a random spot of metal on the floor area in the trunk (you'll have to scrape a lil paint to do so) and see how much resistance you're showing... it shouldn't be much at all... if its high, reground

Re: Alternator Whine

I used new grounds....im kinda sad...I think i need to do the voltage regulator tsb...see if that helps because my lights do dim for no particular reason...Or maybee its my well oiled alternator that makes all the noise...Everyone has told me that shoud kill it...but you know i have been on this same oily alt for 4-5 years now lol....I think i found the trick to making alts last.

Re: Alternator Whine

...i dont think it was done...i bought the car used it could have been done befor i got it...however since i have the problem im having i dont think its been done...I hope its not too much of a PITA...Everything is so dammed cramped on that side of the engin. In other news my battery relocation looks much less ghetto now And the battery stays where it should in turns ! yay

I wish it were just an amp...my factory radio makes the damn noise, my radar detector used to make the noise when the speaker worked...I mean its like its in everything electrical...I dont want to suppress the noise for a system i want to get rid of it !

Re: Alternator Whine

Same here...the radio can be off and mine still makes noise...IDK what it is...I think my electrical system is screwed up because ive done alot to make sure i have the best setup i can and i still have noise my next step is to do the voltage sensing wire TSB if that doesnt work idk what to do...maybee replace the alt but that seems drastic when the one i have still works.
