pioneer head deck flipout?

So I have a deh940mp and the face opens and then closes everytime I shut the car off, does anyone know if I can have this turned off because its pissing me off.

They do that to remind you to remove it for security reasons. Pop it off and put it in the case and toss it in the glovebox if you don't want to carry it. My 6800 does this.

they used to have a menu you could access with the deck turned off that you could turn this off... check out your manual

^ Agreed. Use your manual. You can turn it off. If you dont' have your manual you can download it from the Pioneer website.

because I was bored and it took me all of 7 minutes:

Taken from pg 53 of your manual

Setting the automatic opening
function

The automatic opening function opens the front
panel to remind you to detach it. (Refer to page
11.)


You can turn the automatic opening function on or off.

1. With the source turned off, press and hold 1.
2. Press NEXT and then press DT-OPN to select the automatic opening mode.
3. Press DT-OPN to turn the automatic opening on. “ON” appears in the display.
• Press DT-OPN again to turn the automatic opening off.
