New Install, New Problems

I have had 2 sets of rockford power 6X8 speakers for a while and threw them in over the last couple days. They are amped with 2 rockford 250.2 amps and sound really good. Beyond the fact I actually installed something and it works pretty sweet I had to bridge the amps and put both sets of speaker wire in, versus one set per channel. The amps will not work the right channel speakers, and as its set up they only will play left sounds in the case of a sound effect moving left to right. This setup will work but I was wondering if I had a couple of bad amps (brand spanking new out of the plastic) or if that is the way that rockford designed these amps to run with there 6X8s. Any help or insight will be much appreciated.
