Amplifer and Carputer turn on?

My carputer requires a 12v line from somwhere to use the ignition on feature, where it turns on when you turn your key, since I won't have a deck anymore can I just use the acc. wire from the radio? Could I also use this to turn on the amplifiers? The carputer powersupply has a remote on for the amplifiers, but I don't think it can turn on two amplifiers.

I believe I wired both my amps to the headunit accessory line. I wouldn't see why it would be a problem. It's really just uses the 12v as a signal.

Re: Amplifer and Carputer turn on?

So coming from the stock wiring I have a switched positive (ant) and an ignition wire. Either of these will work correct? Maybe divide the load amoung the two? Or are they the same wire or relay somewhere down the line?

Heres where i got my info. http://www.hearsay.demon.co.uk/puma/audio.html

I'm using an adapter kit aswell so I have all the wires labeled and easy to use, for $10 i figured it was work it to not cut up the stock wiring.

Re: Amplifer and Carputer turn on?

if im not mistaken the ant wire is triggered by radio, plus im not sure it will work hence no power antenna on coug might be just a leftover wire from contour side. i would hook a dvm upto before i go ahead and wire it up.

I think the ant is for a power antenna, which we dont' need. You really just need the ignition wire to hook up to a 12v source only when the key is clicked to the "on" position. I used a digital multimeter to find it. If you have the headunit manual it will tell you which goes to which.
