Re: Added factory cruise control

I dont have the delete cap. badasscougar has one on his car, might be able to hit him up... but once again, its just shorting 2 pins.

ya kinda takes you by suprise when you go for your horn and get nothing.... I gave up trying to get this delete cap [couldnt even get a part number for it] and just removed the horns.

Re: Added factory cruise control

I never tried honking the horn while I didn't have the module or cap hooked up. You guys are crazy, I used my cruise control ALLLLL the time in my probe, then I bought the Cougar and have been missing it ever since! Otherwise I tend to vary speeds from around 10 under to 15 over when I'm not paying close attention

Re: Added factory cruise control

I dont use it because I can get high mpg without it

.... that and with it, I have a tendancy to stop paying attention to the road.

Re: Added factory cruise control

I'm too tall, and end up hitting the pedals with my feet anyway!

might as well keep the feets on the pedals since there is no room for them anywhere else!!!

So, what part of the cruise system causes you to lose the Horn's functionality? I would think that just removing the cruise servo, cable, and the steering wheel would allow you to retain horn function...???

Re: Added factory cruise control

Where is the connector that needs to be shorted located? I am guessing the connector for the servo control box?

I just tried that location on newcat016's Cougar and it didn't work...

Re: Added factory cruise control

I found the connector on JScullin's Cougar, and found out that PINs 6 and 10 are jumped... using a factory delete cap....

Just thought I would place that info here for anyone that was wondering.

Re: Added factory cruise control

Is it possible to connect the cruise control buttons onto a non-cruise wheel?

Re: Added factory cruise control

I need one of those clutch pedal switches with the four prongs... I have everything else hooked up on my coug (mine also didnt come with cruise control, but I have everything installed except that one switch).

Re: Added factory cruise control

hmm.. stock cruise control had buttons on steering wheel I guess? I had a little switch that was on the side of the steering column area.. I cut out the cruise control module and never had a problem with my horn..? I guess it was aftermarket?
