Head unit adapter fitting
Hi guys!
I've found this kit on brittish ebay site: FORD HIGH GRADE INSTALLATION /FITTING KIT - ALL INC on eBay, also, Fascia Plates, In-Car Entertainment GPS, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 03-Jun-08 15:02:11 BST) Unfortunately seller sells it to Europe only. However, maybe it's possible to urge him to sell to US too, I don't know. Well. The question is... I've got a 99 Cougar (European version) with 5000 stock cassette radio. I want to get rid of it and install a normal 1DIN radio with CD, MP3, USB etc. I've measured my 5000 radio. It's 100 mm (3.94 inch) height! According to information available this is double DIN size, not 1 and 3/4 like 99 Cougar supposed to have! Now I doubt if this kit will fit my car. Maybe I'm wrong though... Is 50 mm - a standard DIN size we're talking about here? Could anyone measure the radio/opening in 99 Cougar US model and tell me what is the exact height of your stock radio? Or could someone explain me what can I do? Any ideas?  |

You cannot fit a double din in a cougar without moding the bezel. (as far as i know.)

the ebay link is the kit for the 99-00 models. It will not fit the 01-02 models. Also you can get that in the US man dont pay the high shipping cost for that thing to be brought from overseas.
