did the headlight sticky.... still pulses?

ok i followed the headlight sticky to a T. everything went fine started the car up and the headlights and dash lights did not pulse or dim. my buddy calls me later on saying that the alternator light (which came on before this mod randomly) still comes on and the headlights still dim and pulse, but it didn't start again till after the car was driven for about 25 minutes then parked. on his way home the headlights dimmed like before. the positive cable is pretty corroded so i'm thinking thats the problem, i have another one on the way but any input would be awesome. its a 2000 cougar v6 automatic.

again, i followed the sticky with no problems... seemed to work fine untill it was parked and ran again later on. i am a GM certified technician so i do know my way around a car. i made sure to solder the wire connections and covered them with heat shrink tubing. i dunno, other than the positive cable, what else could be wrong with that car? alternator going out?
