Help - 99 Cougar Gages
When I turn on the key, the MPH and RPM gages go crazy and jump from minimum to max, then everything is ok. I would just ignor this but the clock changes times every time this happens. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Help - 99 Cougar Gages
my guess is a grounding issue. Check all the wires related to your ignition. Also, check your terminal connections to a battery. when you start the car and the terminal connection is loose - it can jump around, causing a quick stall, course the connection gets made starting your car, but since you technically "unplugged" from the battery, the clock resets.

Re: Help - 99 Cougar Gages
I just had a very similar issue, every time I would start the car the guages would reset to 0, the overheads were out, and the mirrors wouldn't work. Took it to Ford and they said it was wiring behind the dash, same with the dealership we bought it from...
Long story short, check fuze #34 under the dash. Should be a 7.5.
