Re: my newest project is...

are you going to wait till the fist layer is dry and then put more on? one layer will not be strong enough. min of at least 4-5. but it looks like a good start!

Re: my newest project is...

ya, im waiting for the first layer to dry as im gonna need more resin, i am gonna do some layers of actual fiberglass, but i need to make a run for more supplies and make sure all the edges are sealing up properly with the last of the resin I have.

Re: my newest project is...

if you're adding on to the first layer on the outside, go ahead and not let it dry completely. add more to the inside too, it makes things easier when you finally smooth the outside.

Re: my newest project is...

ya for sure, I already did the inside was using the last of the resin I have tho so it was kinda a thin layer, its gonna have to dry overnight till i can get more, im making sure that the first layer is well saturated before i move to the first layer of actual fiberglass mat. its drying pretty slow, it was still slightly sticky after 2 hrs, its kinda chilly in the garage mind you. thx for the tips so far guys, one thing i wish i did was make the 4 corners of my wood backdrop curved instead of cornered, oh well tho. I'll just make sure everything is solid before i use it.

Re: my newest project is...

wow great job!!!!!

you know what would kick ass? after its dry, mold in 2 monitors. one on each side. you are probably gonna say money is an issue. if so, to hell with you....j/k. but nonetheless, great to see you taking a project like this into your own hands. alot of people would be intimidated. but when you know what you are doing is easy (well the concept is, there is a lot of work when it comes to making it smooth-assuming you will paint it.)

Re: my newest project is...

damn dude... Nice job so far but that seems like a **** load of air space for that sub.. It should be around .65 cubic feet. I would get some packing peanuts and pour them into a box or space that is .65 then pour them into the box to see how close you are before putting the sub in there. Other then that dude keep it up **** looks good.
