Which leads me to my next question, how hard is it to cut down the shifter and get it out of the way? If at all possible...
I have a short shifter in mine. But its apparently not hard to do. I originally had a flip out screen plus a DVD receiver before getting the full unit. www.digitalworldwide.com had screens that would come out without hitting the hvac.

I have the Pioneer AVH 6800DVD. It sits back pretty good in the dash. Even if you were to have your stock shifter in I think you'd be good if you were to change discs with it in 2nd or 4th

Re: Post your audio system!

You know... I see alot of these audio setups, and I keep wondering: WHY does everyone go for setups that completely eliminate any and all trunk space?

For those whose cougar is their daily driver, don't any of you have to do groceries? Ever have to put anything bigger than a shoebox in the trunk? And looking at some cars, I don't even think a shoebox WOULD fit!

i agree with you.
unless you have a 100 percent show car, taking up all that trunk space for sound is stupid.

I only had one 10 inch tube in the back so i had pretty much all of my trunk... but that one 10 inch was plenty loud... in fact, it was louder than my friends 2 12s.

Re: Post your audio system!

i keep it simple in the cougar. Kenwood amp and one 12 inch old school RF sub. everyone always thinks i have 15''s or some huge set up when they first hear it.
