I stopped at a UDF last night with a friend to get a couple dews. I stayed in the car to check over a couple things and parked on the side of the building instead of the front. While I was waiting an older (square nosed) torqouised color (like this shade :rofl:) S10 pulled up to the pumps to get gas. I noticed it cause it had some neons on the front. They were poorly placed and hard to miss since you could see the light bar beeming out instead of just the light glow. The guy finished getting gas and started walking to the doors staring at my car the whole time. As he was in the store he was also staring at my car through the window. My friend finally came out of the store and I proceeded to leave. I casually drove through the station lot and out the exit, turning right and coming up to a light, slowing down. I heard the S10 start up, loud as hell, and rev his engine a couple times and punch it through the UDF lot and squeel tires as he turned onto the road.
I was in the right lane to go straight, behind a couple cars and still creeping towards light. The S10 was coming up in the left lane to turn left as he reved his engine going past me. The lights turned green and he nailed it turning the corner, kicking the truck side ways. I thought Ok, I guess its on. I nail the throttle and pull into the turn lane. He is kicking his throttle down and punches it also as he staightens out the truck. I make the turn at about 3/4 throttle and kick it into second reaching full throttle. He is still about 2 cars in front, but I'm closing the gap real fast. I accidentally hit the rev limiter before switching to third (having a couple issue with a tach I just installed). I pull into third and he's about at my front bumper. I steadily pass by him as he is still staring at my car the whole time. We fly through a set of lights (yes green) at this point and I shift into fourth I quickly realize that things are getting a little out of control and notice I already pulled about a car and half in front of him, so I shut it down and proceed to look for a quick way out of the area. Umm, yeah we were both going really really fast in a 45 zone. I noticed I hit about 90. The truck turns right onto the highway and I go up to the next light and make a left onto the highway. I notice up in front is a prelude with some nice graphics, exhaust, tent, etc etc going on the ramp that I was turning on. He was also at the gas station and prob heard the whole race. He got on the highway doing 60 the whole time. I finally pulled around him after a sec and he kinda tagged next to me the whole time. It looked like he wanted a race too. I didn't want to risk racing on the highway after the first one since I remembered that there was a firestation off the left. :banghead: I know the whole area hear the exhaust and engines going, hell a couple fireman were probably standing out front. The bad thing is that I had to go back down that road to drop my friend back off at his house, so I decided to take the long way around.
My guess is that the S10 was definately modded since he exhaust was just about as loud as mine and he has some stickers on the windows and stuff. To what extent I have no idea since S10s can be hit or miss. Ive seen alot with v8s and v6s and some just bone stock. I know one thing though I was hauling ass and it was around a 1/4 mile and hit about 90.
