So there was this little Celica GT TRD 2000 cruising besides me .....the guy was looking at my car like " who the f*** would mod a cougar " So I decided to show him what a cougar is exactly...I rev'ed my engine until the sound of the CAI is noticeable to make him come in his pants...So he rev'ed and looked at me like " what he think he gonna do with that cougar " So green light switched. From 1st to 4th gear ... twice  I smoked him nice ... He didnt want a 3rd race ... So like this was my turn now ...I gave him a look like " who the f*** would mod a celica "

The GTs were turds.

The GT-S isn't that great either though. Toyota designed it so you only needed a 1/2 shift to run 0-60 so that magazine testers could get a quick time. It doesn't really work that well with the powerband of the engine. Hell the 1st run of the GT-S's didn't even make the claimed 180hp until 300rpms AFTER indicaded redline.

the gt-s celica runs a low 15 iirc. 15.1 or 15.2 or somethin like that. with the right driver, a gt-s shouldn't have much of a problem with a stock cougar.

You should keep your Cougar bashing to the Hyundai  forums where someone might actually believe anything you have to say.

What year was it? If it had any mods, I don't know what was special about the TRD, I'm assuming it was faster.

2000 Toyota Celica GTS 6.6 15.2
2001 Toyota Celica GTS 7.3 15.5
2002 Toyota Celica GTS 7.3 15.6

That's definitely quicker then a stock cougar.

well excuse me, let me remember every damn car stat correctly off the top of my head. maybe I should quit judging how fast cars are by how fast I see them run at the track, I'm so stupid like that. but according to tyger, I'm not too far off. and next time you try and be a smarta$$ little *****, and jump all over someone, check and see if they put something like "iirc". i'm sorry you can't handle the fact that a celica is just as fast, if not faster than your car, life is a b!tch, get over it.

Tyger, the TRD consist of exhaust, intake, suspension, wheels, and body work but Car & Driver found the car to be 0.3 seconds slower 0-60, and 2mph slower in the ¼ mile than the standard Celica GT-S.

In addition the 1999 – 2001 Celicas were quicker because they didn’t have an electronic redline and their engines power peaked at 8,350rpm instead of 7,800rpm. The original ’99 cars were capable of a mid/high 6 second 0-60, and 15.2s @ 93mph.

Toyota lowered the redline because the earlier cars had durability problems and added the electronic redline because people kept over revving and blowing them up. The cars roughly a 1 second hit on it’s acceleration times as a result.

Buffdaddy, much like your posts your links are total garbage. It’s unconfirmed nonsense from unknown sources. But then again so are YOUR posts. The Auto Channel web site doesn’t even test cars. Instead they rely on manufactures data and software to simulate what a vehicle could run.

Here are some REAL stats. Dispute ‘em or run back off to the Hyundai forums to talk about your warranties.

2000 Celica GT-S TRD
0-60: 7.5 seconds
¼ Mile: 15.7 @ 92mph
-Car & Driver November 2000

2004 Toyota TRD Celica GT-S TRD
0-60: 7.4
1/4 mile: 15.8 @ 89.4
-Road & Track August 2004

It’s funny how you can dish it but you can’t take it, and throw little sissy fits when you get called out for the punk ass that you are.
