View Full Version : Need stock 16" rim

Due to recent stupidity and lack of intelligence (or so I feel like) I blew my front passanger tire, bent the rim, and bent up my fender. So I am in need of a stock 16" rim, no tire needed.

Does anyone in Ohio have one of these things laying around they wanna sell or somethin? I prefer if the tire was off, and it was just the rim. My tires are covered, and the one will be replaced free.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hah thanks Dan, your support is always appreciated.

But he's right. I am a freakin idiot. I learned, nothing truely bad happened and I was lucky for that.

You Drink, You Drive, You Lose. I dont think Im going to drink anymore, maybe a chance I would if I knew I didnt have to drive.

I have to agree, driving drunk is a bad idea! However I can't say too much since I have been guilty of doing it myself, however nowdays I avoid it at all costs.

Under the circumstances I was in, I had two options.

I was at someone's bday party that I knew only a couple people at. It was a great time, I planned to crash on a couch. After about 2 hours, I went upstairs to see what was going on. I didnt like what I saw, people were doing illegal things and what not. I did not know any of these people, nor did I want to. I was ultimately scared. I snuck out, none of my friends would let me drive.

I would never, ever put myself into a situation like that at the party if I knew what would happen. I feel horrible as is about it. Not only do I have to see my car how it is, I have road rash on my face. Anytime I look in the mirror, I get reminded of it. I havent wanted to drive my Cougar either because of it, I feel like Ive let her down.

I know what I did was stupid, some of you may hate me for it and may never forgive me. I was just really scared and did not want to be apart of any of that. I dont think anyone here knows me really well, but if you did, you would know I am completely drug free, and have been for many years. There was once apart of my life where I wasnt, and I dont wish to have any of this repeat in my life.

No hate dude. You made a mistake, you admitted it, you were lucky enough to avoid the seriously nasty possible consequences, and you won't do it again. Lesson learned. And a graphic reminder in the appearance of the Cougar, and she'll forgive you once you fix her wheel.

Though you may pay for it verbally at several NECO meets to come ;)

Yeah, I can imagine people wont let this down.....haha which is good because I cant forget about what I did.

Im buying those Z3 fenders from that guy in Indy. So, I guess this was a catalyst to getting those done.

It must be Irony at its best. Not only was I complaining about having nothing left I wanted to do, but I saw one of those "You Drink, You Drive, You Lose" signs on the way to the party.

I will also be buying black paint, and buffing solution. Does anyone have a bottle of buffing stuff they wanna sell? Or maybe someone knows the right kind to use. I bet you do Mark ;-)

Im gonna make it up to my car

i think he did it intentionally just so he could get more mods. i'm surprised he's only looking to replace the one rim and not get a whole new set of different wheels.

but ne ways, sorry it happened. i might b able to find a rim for u. let me call a few friends and c if i can make it happen.

Thanks Matt, but I have one coming in from Texas. Hah, and I did look into getting new rims, but then I would need new tires, and Im not looking to spend 1k on the rims and tires I would want.

Maybe in the future, hehe, but not right now.

Oh and think of how rediculous this is. When calling around to places for this rim, locally people wanted anywhere from $140 - $200 for this rim. Thats a rediculous price! I got mine for $60 shipped, which was excellent.

Check out ebay man. Sorry, I can't do much lower for the rims. :( You live, you learn. Luckily no one was hurt, which is awesome.

You know how smart you are when your drunk, common sense can flutter away in a second. Id have to say it did. It would of been much cheaper to get a cab then spend $200 on the replacement parts for the car. Or even better, call my bro only 10 mins away and crash at his place.

I know I made a mistake, I know all the options I could have taken, I know what I did was as illegal as what was going on in that house. I was scared, and not sober, those two mixed doesnt allow good thinking. Im sorry to anyone I may have offended by doing this. Just know it made me a better person.

I backed outta getting the fenders for now. My dad seems to think we can get it back to normal, or close to.

Most of you prolly know im not about looks so much on my car. So, maybe I will get an award for the most damaged Cougar now :(

Hey man, don't worry, i wasn't trying to rag on ya. Just curious if you have cab services where you are. My city didn't have cab services till about 6 or 7 years ago.

I can't relate on the common sense thing. I've been stupid drunk before but was always able to keep a fairly straight head on me. I don't think everybody has that ability. Though i've never been scared and drunk, so i can't imagine what those two mixed emotions can do to a persons judgement.

Anyways, you survived the circumstance with minimal injury and damage. And the most important fact is that you learned from the experience and your moving on from it. That's what seperates you from other people that do this. You learned from it, others don't learn and go on to repeat the mistake.

Agreed, thanks ;)

Now I get to trot around in a poopy looking Cougar. :banghead: One day I will get this thing a paint job, and fix up the small dents and such. One day.....

ummmm...well....actually I think I may get the award for most damaged cougar right now. I rear ended someone earlier today. You can have the biggest brakes in the world, but if your tires don't grab you're still screwed.

Fortunately all my damage is cosmetic, and with the exception of the headlights and hood, I already had replacement parts in the mail before the accident ever happened.

Eek!! Sorry to hear that Dan, are you alright??

Lucky you for havin the parts coming in already. My dad seems to think the fender should be pretty repairable. So hopefull all will be well after I get this rim....which I hope is soon!

That sucks to hear man. :( I rear ended a guy a few days ago. I blame it on the shotty autozone duralast brakes, well, that and me driving extremely tired from work. :banghead:

I agree about the common sense drunkeness though. I still know what I'm doing a majority of the time I'm drinking. It's the times I black out that scare me. No recollection whatsoever = not fun at all. :( Happens to the best of us.
