Yah so nothing pisses you off more than when you car breaks when you're driving and far from home.... Stupid B&M shifter broke on me as I went to shift into 5th gear, the bottom balls weld broke... and because they use stainless steel it's not like I can weld it back on that easily (because stainless steel needs special welding equipment and to my knowledge not many of my buddies have those welding tools)

anyways I drove it to my nearest buddies house in 4th gear the whole time... (fun to start in 4th gear may I add) and now I'm home getting my stock shifter to put back in!

Question is however is the box says that it has a limited lifetime waranty on this thing... I bought it used but got everything including instructions and the box from the guy, so if the waranty covers it do you think they would make good on it?

Thanks!

You can weld stainless steel really easy, I've been welding my exhaust piping and they are stainless steel... You just need the correct setting and would weld like regular steel, it's aluminum that's a pita to find someone that know what they are doing ;)

yah I'm gonna call them first, if not I'm going to send it to my buddies dads steel shop for some TLC!

yeah I was about to say. Stainesless steel is nothing special to weld. Shiz even aluminum isn't too bad at all.

yah, it's just the place I get a lot of my welding done doesn't have the equipment to weld stainless no tigs or anything strong like that! but if I need it welded I found 2 places that will do it for free so that'll hopefully be good! I'm just having a hard time getting ahold of B&M with there no e-mail policy and you can only call them during certain times haha! kinda frustrating!

You can MIG weld stainless with a spool gun... TIG isn't really a "strong" process per se, just matters what tungsten diameter you use and how high you crank the amperage!

meh I forget all my old welding knowledge haha! but after some time on the phone with B&M sounds like they will replace it if I send my broken 1 back to them... although when they took my info down they never called me back like they said they would... I'll call again tomorrow!

yah so they won't replace it at B&M because I don't have a receipt! so I guess welding is option 2....
