Whats up guys! Im postin from rockland ny, bout 30 min outside NYC in the burbs. Got a 00 cougar about 3 months or so ago :) Hows it goin?

I live in New Windsor (12553) so were only about an hour and a half away
but I drive a new Scion tC now :)

well i need to do a body kit, i was gonna do it now, but with winter so close i figured id wait to spring... As we speak im having my auto start put in... Then i gotta nail down the problem im havin with the car before anything major begins... I posted about it in the problems section. I think its the air flow mass sensor... I hope thats all it is.... I know dick about cars... and dont really have the money to spend to bring it to ford for them to diag it... If anyone is in the area and wants to take my car out for a spin and help me figure out how to make this thing perform better id be greatly appreaciated... Buy an 18 pack and bbq or some ****.... Got my house to myself for the next 2 weeks :)

If Fett posts **** about it, saying take it to a qualified dealer blah blah blah, don't take it personally. He's just a prick. Equal opportunity bigot, he hates everyone. As a general statement, he knows his ****, but he's such an ass about it that it's rarely helpful.

BTW, if you just want to pull the code numbers, $50 at Harbor Freight. (http://da.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/search.do?keyword=code+reader&Submit=Go) There's one in Albany on Central Ave. for those of you that live around here. Watch the fliers, they put them on sale for $30 every once in a while. And just because the CEL isn't on now doesn't mean it won't pull a code. Doesn't mean it will either.

sigh thanks... Im sorta pissed off... i had no idea my car had a chip in it... now i gotta go to ford and get a new key made so they can finish my autostart! How much do you guys think it will cost to get a key made up? And can they usually do it on the spot or do they have to order it?

Do you have only 1 key? If so, it will be around $90. If not, $30. You need 2 keys to program the third. I believe instructions for the key are in the manual, but I don't think it costs any more for them to program it than for the key itself. They are $30 a piece, but if you only have 1 key, you have to have everything reprogrammed, and that's why it's close to $100.
