Who would be interested in entering the autorama? If you are an ISCA member the entry fee is only $15. The best group showing award is $500. I think it would be cool if we could get some cougars in the show this year.

I have a vinyl cutter, I'll make decals for all the cougars that come out so that everyone knows were in the same group ;)

I've always wanted to go, but my car's out of commission in the winter and it's too much work to put it back on the road and get insurance back on it for like 2 days.

Info wont be coming out until late Nov-Dec time. Since my brothers car club is hosting I wll be able to provie the info for you guys as I get it.
But since my brothers car club is all Rat Rod and Nostalgia stuff, I know they were talking about cutting the Tuner car stuff out for the upcoming show.

Well it's November, any updates? I'm not a big fan of the tuner crowd either, but it would be nice to have an MC-NECO section. I'm sure we could get 10-15 Cougars if it was the same $25 entry fee as last year. It would be a sweet weekend long meet, that's for sure. Even if we got shoved in the corner, 2 days of a warm building to work on our cars in would rock.
jrak123
11-02-2006, 01:57 PM
I think it's $50 now Brad. As far as I know right now the tuner crowd will be upstairs this time around, kind of back by where the food stands and for sale cars are.

Ok so here's the deal, since my brothers car club is the host club for the autoramaxtreme show I have access to some info. They pretty much want to do away with the "tuner crowd" (in which we fit into) As it goes sso far they are going to reserve a corner for tuners and the rest will be street, hot and rat rods.
My brother said at their next club meeting he will look into the details further and if they do indeed do away with tuners he said he will see if he can get our club in. BUt we would need 10 or so confirmed people to do it. And we would need to have a good display to go along with it.

My thoughts exactly, but we will have some tough competition with my brothers club. www.theoriginalpoorboys.com Last year I had the edsel in their display along with 2 old bikes 2 work in progress cars and a dragster that was 6' up in the air. I would like to aim to beat my brothers club out of the display award this year. ( think it's a $500 prize to the club, that would make for a nice spring party)
Murdock

Do you have any pictures of their display from last time?? We would need to get together closer to the event, get everyone squared away that is going to be there, and get some display ideas together. If we can build the cars we drive, I think we can figure out an interesting display.
Edit: Found the pictures on their site.

I have 4 show displays still in my mothers barn in Jackson. Everything from light-up plexi signage, carpet, velvet ropes in 3 colors, mirrors, spotlights, and a rotisserie that was used to rotate my Sportage. (The rotisserie requires a special mounting plate under the vehicle, and the truck had to be perfectly 50/50 distribution.) If any of this is of use, I'll gladly letcha do whatcha want with it.

Are they even allowed to be included in judging this year? Most shows tend to not allow the hosting and judging clubs to be included in any of the award contests.

So ten cars would be
Nancy's cougar
Jrak's cougar
Murdock's cougar
Atomic's cougar
John's cougar???
BBOX's cougar???
Lisa's cougar???
Ron's cougar, Have to have the flashy lights!
???
???
It would be nice to have RacerX cart his cat to put in our display.

I would not say that...if you are talking about the town of Algonac...then there are no dirt roads. But there are a lot not too far away.
And no, I do not live on a dirt road. I do not think I could allow myself to. That would suck too much with trying to keep the car clean all the time. And it would really suck trying to get my truck down it

I have to go to the junk yard this weekend, need to find a trans for my Escort, I will look to see if there are any 1st Gen's there. Did they put V6's in them or just the 4 banger??
Engines are a flat rate...$100 for 4 bangers $150 for V6's I think
Auto trans is about $100 too...might be less
