Adjusting Linkage

I updated my tanny with the new shift tower and linkage and had thrown my gear shifter off. It was really hard to get into some of the gears. I looked at it today and noticed that the clips were made to be adjustable. I spent a couple hours removing the BM shifter and setting the linkage. Its 1000 times better than before, but just wondered if anyone has any tips on setting it right. Or maybe a how to?

it's not actually an adjustment, the cable ends are supposed to be completely seated in the cables
