ugh!!! I was an idiot this weekend! well I was cruising the vard tryin to pick up some chicks and I hit the light and on my right there is a white pontiac grand am, well he revs up and looks over at me, ya he wants to race! So light goes green we both punch it, we are side by side and all of a sudden my radar detector goes mad!!! ka band x9!! me and the grand am both must have had one cuz we slowed down the same time he hurried and turned right and got away while I turn at the next light and get pulled over, well the story ends with me getting a ride home cuz my car got IMPOUNDED!!!! So ya moral of the story TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!! ha ha

at the local hang out there is a cop that turns up alot. i raced him once. those crown vics are pretty fast. haha!!

on topic...that sucks. maybe if you are able to race someone ever again you should find yourself a nice dead road. i fond a nice buisiness road at about 1130pm works best.

Same here. I street race every once in a blue moon, and its only in BFE at 1am when no one else is around. I get a sweet Student Discount at the track, $5 to race every weekend. Not worth the eleventy-Billion dollars in fines and stuff you get now for street racing.

Don't street race...

I was asked this weekend if I race (because the guy was checking out my car) and I squared off with him and said "I do not condone street racing, take it to the track" then he goes on and asks why I do all the things I've done to the Cougar if I don't street race. Some people just don't get it

I go to an Automotive Tech school, hence the connection with the track. The school has a Car Club that goes out there alot, so the track and the school worked out a sweet deal for the students. Also, street racing is a big problem with alot of the kids at school (alot of ricers, its like the Fast and the Furious when school lets out) so they're trying to get the kids a good alternative.

You know what I find funny though. All the hard core "muscle heads" (older guys with too much money and nothing else to do) ***** all the time about ricers hanging out at their meeting spots and street racing and tell them to keep it to the track. THEN... they go and ***** that all these slow ass ricers for being at the track and slowing down their runs.

Wtf?

another thing i find quite funny, that they complain about ricers hanging out in parking lots on the strip and all that, but they do the same.. i always see 5-8 very nice muscle cars and classics parked in a parking lot. I guess the 'ricers' were them when they were younger

How is it possible that the other didnt get caught but you did? Y didnt you turn the same time the pontiac did? And where was the cop hiding?

frdman1
08-15-2006, 12:12 AM
He came after me I think cuz my car is MUCH MUCH nicer and his was this POS grand am ha ha but I have no idea where he was hiding all I know is he did the trick where they put their radar detectors on HOLD so your detector doesn't pick it up and then when you pass him he turns it on and....BAM caught!!!! but when my radar went off i looked around and didn't see anything following me so I just shrugged it off until my radar kept beeping telling me he was getting closer, ya I'm stupid

It will probably get reduced to wreckless op.. 3 or 6 month suspension, I forget which one. Big fine. Not too bad considering you could be dead. You'll have high insurance for a very long time now, probably the rest of your life. Not to mention everytime you get pulled over you'll get a ticket. Just remember to calculate tickets into your yearly budget from now on.
