Ok, this has got to be the 2nd closest to death Ive ever been. Just plain scary....

I pull up to a small four way intersection. -|- <--like that. I was at the bottom of the intersection. The light is red, and cars are traveling perpendicular to me, because there light is clearly green.

Im the only one sitting on 7th street before the intersection. nobody waiting inline behind me. I look across the intersection at this beamer that pulls along side of a dodge ram, as if to turn right at the intersection. As we all know, in the US were allowed to turn right on a red light, if its safe....lemme repeat that. IF its safe! well it wasnt safe. I was looking at the beamer (i dont know what year or model) but it looked pretty nice, lip kit, rims, lowered etc. I see it begin to roll into the intersetion as if to turn right. I look to my right and see a Toyota 4runner hauling ass down the street, heading straight towards the beamer as it pulls out.

Ok, its hard to explain how small this 4 way intersection is, so put it this way...as im looking at this scenario during these brief 2 seconds of time, staring at the beamer, and in my head just screaming, dont do it man....dont you dare pull out on that intersection. I realize....ok, that guy in the 4runner is going atleast 60 - 65 (20 miles over the speed limit) and that little beamer... plus a 4runner...pieces of metal will shatter everywhere. some quite possibly slamming into me....etc.

I cringe...as i am the only one knowing whats about to happen....i watch the 4runner glide across the intersection, slam into the beamer thats pulling out, and watch both cars, begin to spin like hell. that beamer went right into the side of a gas station. (dont worry, not the pump, the building) the 4runner however, hit the side of the beamer just right, and began to spin about 2 feet off the air...

the front bumper of this 4runner, completely detaches, and with the momentum of the spinning car, lauches itself right at me....i mean RIGHT at me. My eyes light up  and i just did the first thing that came to my mind, which was duck. I basically dive into my passenger seat on my back and my head is facing up so i see the sharp aluminum bumper fly nearly inches above my car.... seriously, probably only 1 - 2 inches and hit the assfault 20 - 30 feet behind me. I sit back up.....with my heart pounding, and my stomach in my throat....and just have my sigh of relief.

Story short, the guy in the beamer....fatal accident. the other man in the 4runner went to the hospital, i never figured out what he broke or injured. and me.....iim fine, but too close for comfort.

I pretty much cringed trying to envision that. Witnessing moments like that first hand, where you realize your life is not in your own hands anymore, really makes you go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate things. Its surreal.

Im glad you are ok.

I would have stuck around and given a statement, the guy in the 4runner might have gone to jail for killin that man even though he pulled out in front of him from a blind spot.
