* DRIVING ADVISORY-BAY BRIDGE CLOSING INFO
If you're planning to drive into the San Francisco area, please be aware that the Bay Bridge (eastbound lanes only) will be closed September 1-5. Consider using the Golden Gate Bridge, Richmond-San Rafael Bridge or San Mateo-Hayward Bridge as an alternative route

Moraki
08-29-2006, 12:52 PM
What bridge do you take when the others collapse because of earthquakes...

Goldie
08-29-2006, 01:26 PM
rather have earthquakes now and then, then tornados and funky weather. oh - and big midwest bugs!

LostRacer
08-29-2006, 01:30 PM
Bridge? Nobody here uses bridges anymore. We all use teleporters :flushed: Bridges are so mid-west and east coast..like Ewwww!

Aren't they taking down the Oakland Bay Bridge?

XRTONY

Don't worry, we weren't planning on going across the bay bridge anyway.

This does mean more traffic going into SF, but driving in SF is overrated. We may take public transportation, which is clean, efficient, and quick. We'll discuss it. :)

Headers... not exactly a fast swap ... unless you got good tools and a lift... ive done headers in 4 hours. But i think thats a NECO record...even if i was cheating.

doogo99
08-31-2006, 07:55 PM
vick, i have some ramps that you could use...

they worked fine for the headers on my dad's truck, but that took like two weeks, so again the time is the issue.

Anyway-

I've got a Mini DV Cam, I've got 4 2-way radios, and I've got a digital camera as well.

We're covered. :)

Give me a ring when you're in town, I'll be down in the area by around then anyway. Got an appointment at 1pm to get a hose replaced on the 'tour.

UserDrew
08-31-2006, 10:44 PM
Yeah, I willhead up in about 9 hours or so. Does anyone have any primer? My car is minus weatherstripping between the glass and the "metal" on the top of the hatch exposing red paint in the crack. I want to give it a temp fix by spraing the area inside black until I replace the stripping on the car. It just occured to me today while washing the car. The paint on my hood is pretty ****ed up also as it has chipped in areas. The whole car can actually use a quality repaint.

This is what I did this morning:

Moraki
09-01-2006, 12:48 AM
Yes all the road dirt and dead buggs will mask all the rock chips nicely. No one will know the difference.

Then again mines so bad i didnt bother cleaning it for CF ... Gateway had the only 2 dirty cougars there.... but we also won the cleanest cougar. hah

 OOPS.

Yeah I am at ty's place. I crashed once I got here becuase I only had a few hours of sleep. I averaged was getting 31mpg on the drive up here except in the mountains it went down to 28 for some reason. I was going to tank up just after passing the oilfields in bakersfield just after going through pasadena. I was at half a tank but felt like pulling over. There were two gas stations at the rest stop both charged 3.60 a gallon for gas. So I got back on the five and kept driving. When I got down to a quarter of a tank I pulled into a populated area with several stations. One station was charging 2.66 a gallon and it no other station was charging over 3. Good thing I held off, eh?

Another day and night went by last night and we were up until the wee hours of the morning as usual. During the day we had driven on woodside road (hwy 84) over the hills to the coast, then up Highway 1 to Half Moon Bay. After watching a Blue Heron eat a gopher, we drove down to eat at two different restaurants in princeton, both of which were awesome.

The night was capped off with everyone meeting at Ty's place for socializing and drunken antics, plenty of which were captured on videotape.

Vick and I passed out on the couch at about 5:30am, and I somehow work up at 11:30 on the floor. My ass was sore, I don't know what that bastard did to me in my sleep. :(

After an awesome breakfast, we split up for a bit while Tad went to San Francisco, Goldie and Moraki went to an A's game (WTF? A's??), Ty and Vick went back to da hood to get a little Triple-S action (And I think Vick had a few lawns to mow), and Chris and I went with his girlfriend to the mall so I could get a t-shirt as I had been wearing the same clothes since the night before.

The barbecue at KEGSTAND TONY's place was, of course, awesomely fun. A few choice quotes from KEGSTAND TONY were made, and we have video evidence of him losing a wrestling match to a girl and tapping out.

I'll put together a short video of highlights from the the weekend when I can (soon) and post it. If anyone has pics, please email them to me. Get me on AIM for my email addy, I don't want a spam bot to pick it up here. :)
