I will keep this poll open until Friday, August 11th. Please vote on which llocation you like!!

Once we have all these details, we'll invite any other chapters if you want to. One nice thing about the group areas is that we can fit as many people/cars as we need to. I definetely think that's the way to go. I'm not much for parking my car in some far away parking with hundreds of screaming little bratty kids around :)

Ok, I called both places today and got the information. Our choices are:

Cranberry Run Campground (http://www.poconocamping.com/) in the Poconos - MAP (http://www.poconocamping.com/mapsdirections.htm)

or

Bellefonte/State College KOA (http://www.koakampgrounds.com/tents/) in Bellefonte - MAP (http://maps.google.com/maps?lr=&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF-8&q=2481+Jacksonville+Road+Bellefonte,+PA+16823&om=1&ll=40.961234,-77.684326&spn=1.79819,5.229492)

It's pretty much a toss-up between what they can offer I think. Both places allow pets, alcohol, have decent roads, and will allow us a group area where we can just have a field with one fire pit. We can put our tents wherever, and have our cars parked right there with us.

The group sites at both campgrounds are available today, but could book up tomorrow...We should get one booked soon.

Prices:

State College KOA will give us the group site for $35.00 plus $6.00 to $8.00 per person (probably depending on how many we have).

Cranberry Run offers the group site for any group of people, but there is no additional charge. It's $28.00 per person if you are setting up a tent, $14.00 if you are not. He said that he usually give a little discount for people in a group, but didn't say how much.

Seems like KOA would be cheaper in the long run for everyone.

Vote it up, people!

If everyone votes for KOA, we can all meet up somewhere easy, and I can lead us out. I know exactly where it is.

How far is KOA from State College? He said a couple miles north of Bellefonte I think....

Yeah, that's about right...State college is about 10 miles away (probably less) from Bellefonte, so it wouldn't take long to get there. Meet at the stadium and we could take it from there. Whatever is convenient for everyone.

BTW, since I was stupid and forget to make this a public poll so we could see who voted, Trevor is going to send me a report of the poll once it's closed, so we can subtract any votes from Comando...lol.

Looks like State College is going to win!

I'll be calling this afternoon to reserve the group area. Basically, we'll have one big field with a central fire pit. We can park our cars and set up our tents wherever!

After I have it reserved, should we invite other chapters? We'll definetely have the room.....

That's it! State College has won, and the campground has been reserved. It will cost us $35.00 for the group area, plus $6.75 per person. Upon arriving, everyone will need to stop in to the office just to sign their name and check in, and I will be collecting the money to pay when we check out.

w00t!
