OK, my turn. Seems like our MC-NECO chapter is getting busy with many mod meets.. BRING EM ON!

Sept 16th is the official mod meet day at my place

directions;

http://excelcier.com/directions

1) Coming to Canada and braving the border

Bring a passport or a driver's license and birth certificate

2) Crashing over

More then welcome, bring a sleeping bag / air mattress and claim floor space. I do have a couple couches in my entertainment room already you can fist fight over. I also have one spare bedroom full of Jenny's stuffed animals and other girly crap for anyone who can stomach that environment if they need total privacy but be prepared to be humiliated and picked on if you claim it! hehehe Out of towners are free to come Friday night if you wish.

3) Food

Pot luck style.. bring something! I'll provide some stuff as well and a BBQ space. I suggest grabbing food from a grocery store after you cross into Canada so you don't have to worry about the border.

4) Cruising

I'm thinking if people are interested, we could even do a small cruise if anyone wants. Just an idea I'm throwing out there.

5) Headlight Flashers

Anyone wanting these, it's $100 and you're helping on the install, especially if drilling through the firewall is required! Try to bring some wire loom / extra wire as I'm running low from other installs ( 12-14 Ga ) and a switch of your choice. I do have some extra stuff but not much.

If possible, let's try to just keep this thread to a simple "Yes, I'm coming or No, piss-off" style so it doesn't get confusing. All Ohio / Toronto folks are welcome as well!

WHO's GONNA BE COMING

Excelcier / Ladyx / Neco-puppy- for sure
Mark / Lunar Limelight - for sure
Mike / Cougarbum - maybe
Soldier989 - maybe
James / Smitty - maybe
Evilcowz - later on Saturday
Jorgen - maybe
Jrak123 - ???
Atomicinternet - REPLY ALREADY!
Puckpuck - if he can't figure it out, we'll all walk 2 blocks to his house and drag him out kicking
BigBalledOx - needs to make up his mind already
ND4SPD - For sure
Bensenvill - For sure
Happsmack - For sure
Mandy - ???
<new person in my neighborhood "Melinda" > - probably

OTHERS - speak up!

Canada...Cougars...Flashers!

I might be down for this, I had an amazing time in Detroit, and wouldnt mind claiming some of those ketchup pringles. This is really close to the Cedar Point meet, all that driving could get rather expensive. Then theres the border, where I've had minimal luck, nothing like a Canadian screaming and yelling at you. It was easier to get back into the U.S.

Will be thinking about this one.

Tygerr
08-07-2006, 11:48 AM
No, piss-off

 That's too far to drive, sorry. Seriously though, I found it more difficult to get INTO Canada than it was to get back to my home country as well. I'm sure it's different on the south border.

To far a drive?? Its like 5 more miles than driving to Detroit which only takes a little over 3 hours. If I go you can tag along with me if you'd like.

LOL! I'm not too sure how I'll get the hood to Detroit, unless you can talk Brad into driving his truck into Jackson with me one night to snag it. I still have the boxes that the two hoods were shipped in, along with the packing materials so I can make sure its good and safe for the ride...

Tell Pierre to weld the hole in your precats closed as apposed to doing the whole nut and bolt method. That's what i did, you can't even tell there was a hole there.

Windsor. It's a 5 hour drive from Keswick. So, that'd be 4 hours and 45 mins drive for you. Not counting traffic and construction.

Mandy, I gave a link right at the beginning to directions and my address. It's in Windsor.

No, you don't HAVE to work on your car, you can come, socialize, hang out, learn something by watching or helping others, or just veg in a corner.. hehe... Lisa has nothing to do on her car but I may put her to work on mine for a change.

theres a good chance I will make the trek up [provided someone is nice enough to allow me use of their couch for the night].

I've got 2 mods that are high on my priority list:
1. svt radiator swap and tranny cooler [which I would need a little bit of supervision with].

or

2. battery relocation [were I will stand around like an idiot because I havent the slightest clue how to "safely" do it]

The Summit battery box defies the laws of physics and manages to both suck and blow simultaneously. Are you running an Optima? I found a nice tray at www.batteriesareus.com, its nothin blinging, but its $20 and shipping and custom fit for the Optima 34/78 series. Or you can get some nice high-end bling if you wanna be uber cool, though those are usually $50 or more higher.

EternalOne

I love the metal Summit box that I have. It's big, its solid, and the battery doesn't move anywhere. I hate the cheap-o plastic boxes, had the weight of the battery shifting and break the plastic in previous vehicles. Of course, if you don't AutoX then you probably don't have to worry, but I like to overplan. ;)

E1

bensenvill
08-16-2006, 12:21 PM
well I'm more concerned on just getting the wiring back there, I can always swap boxes later. plus I dont see it as a bad thing to have an obnoxiously large box, I can always use it to store some misc stuff.

and no optima, as amazing as those batteries are, the plan is something different.... mmmm motorcycle racing batteries... mmmm.

Excelcier
08-16-2006, 01:02 PM
Since you've got an ATX, it's a pretty simple job to run the wire back to the trunk.

Make sure you also get adequate fuses. 2 in fact... one in the engine bay and one in the trunk for extra safety. You MUST use fuses for relocating your battery for extra protection because of the long exposed direct power cable.

I used this exact part, FH4ANL;
