Just bought my 2002 Cougar and thought it would be a good idea to find others that enjoy the car. There is nothing done to the car right now but I do have big plans for it and hope to find good info here.

I'm in Northern VA, but I go down to VA Beach every so often. You should post in the Tidewater Chapter. Everybody from the Hampton Roads area posts in there. There's an upcoming meet as well.

I've looked them up yesterday. I just hate going to those things with nothing done to my cougar yet.:( Money is tight right now so things will come, slowly, but they will come.

Honestly, nobody cares if your car is modded or not. My car was pretty much stock for the first year and a half that I owned it. Plus, meeting people that have already done mods on their cars gives you a great starting place with tons of knowledge as opposed to striking out on your own! You should go, the peeps are really cool. One of them doesn't even drive his Cougar any more!

It's cool that these people are like that. I've gone to some hang outs with friends and their cars and if you didn't have anything done they bad mouthed you for it. I would like to see what others have done to the cougar since it's not a popular one to mod. Well, not by the whole mod scene anyway. I'm tired of seeing just hondas and stuff driving down the road. It's nice to see others. Cougar

just to save you time, get an AEM shortram intake, then talk to a guy on here called Grandmasterkhan, he'll make you an intake extension, so that the intake will be behind the fog light, close to the ground, MSDS makes headers for the V6 cougar, and for the exhaust, magnaflow sounds the best for a V6.

my cougar is a 2.0L I4. I don't think the V6 parts with fit mine. Thanks though.:)

I have been doing alot of reading and coming up with some questions. Still going through threads though just to make sure it's not going to be a repeat. I have found alot of good info so far and getting some ideas on where to start and how far I want to go with everything.

I would say go with driving performance first, Suspension stuff makes the car feel faster. then when it is faster the car will be able to handle spirited driving better.

I was planed on putting 18's and eibach lowering springs on. Is there any other parts that you would recommend?

just do it right the first time, make sure you get all new mounts and if your car has over 60,000 miles replace the struts too. With Eibach you can get away with OE replacements like KYB. Or for an upgrade go to www.batinc.com and look at their suspension lowering kits. They have some pretty good deals onthe BAT euro struts, they are like $95 each, but a hell of a lot better than the price of Koni's at $150is each.

I clicked on your link and it took me to a computer site. It's www.batinc.net They seem to have some pretty good stuff to offer. I think I will buy some things from them for sure. Thanks for the link.
