I want to remove it. but replace it with something sturdy enough to hold a box/subs/amp. while still keeping the carpet. I'm sure someone has done it. what did you use?

Hmm...I could imagine putting your amp in there...but housing both an amp AND subs? I'm almost certain it wouldn't fit. What exactly do you plan to do?

read the how-to on how to fiberglass a box...... unless u get a very thing sub it will no sit flush with the carpeting. However an amp and cap would fit in there very nicely,,, with some l.e.d's

no no. I want to put something in place of the spare tire, lighter and sturdy to hold carpet thingy up with amp/subs/box/battery sitting on top of it.

Just get some MDF and make a new trunk floor. It's very heavy itself, but since you have a stereo system, I'm not too sure why you are really worried about the weight to begin with :)

If you want to get cheap. Take a large plastic bucket and trim to fit.

Heres an idea. Use the jack. Not sure how you would secure it but just another idea.

why use a jack when something else can be used that is MUCH lighter? besides that... whats the point of having a car jack and no spare tire?

I was just thinking of ways it could be done for free.
Really some wood would probably be the the best way to do it.

We put my false floor together for under $50, its just some plywood cut to fit and some 2x2's for support. Its not extremely strong, but its able to hold a good 200ish lbs, jrak123 sat on mine last weekend when he was putting in my RSTB and it held him just fine.
