Hey I live in Kentucky and I got a 2.5 cougar well yesterday my climate control completley went out and no blower or anything. Well I have power going to the ac function switch but not sure if I have any going out. I got mad and put the car back together. Then last night my gauges all went out no tac speedo mpg engine temp or fuel tank level. Today I checked the battery while it was running and realized the alternator wasn't putting hardly any power out. Battery was at like 12 volts exact....scary I have put 3 alternators in this car and it seems like they only last a year. I think that could be because the people who had the car before me put a stupid KIA battery in it. I am going to get a bigger battery tonight. Also I don't think my aux fans are working. I have power to the interior fuse box but some of the fuses have no power. But the fuses with no power still operate the component they are fused to. What the heck is going on with this car????? :banghead:  :(

Start with the battery....see if that makes any difference at all. Then look at the alt. Get the power issues fixed and see what's left.
I THINK I've got a Ford CD around here somewhere if you think that would be any help

Well today I found 7.5 amp fuse under driver side blown. Must have missed that one. So I have a short somewhere between the fuse box and the instrument cluster. Sounds easy right....wrong....like there is about 10 violet and black wires and I havn't been able to find just the violet wire that goes to fuel computer from instrument cluster module. No worry though my bud at work is going to help me track it down tommorow morning. OH and once I put a new fuse in everything but AC works. I think I have a blower motor issue. Alternator is putting out at about 13.5 volts kind of low but its working atleast. Bought 12 dollars worth of 7.5 amp fuses so for now its replace fuse when it blows to keep alternantor going so I can atleast get to work. Pretty crazy how the Instrument cluster can bring so many components down. I am just glad I don't have to put a cluster in or alternator right now. Honestly once I get this fixed im thinking of selling and getting a GT mustang. Gas sucks though so I am not sure....
Any other affordable cars with lots of juice but good on gas? SRT-4?
