Last night me and my buddies where going to see The Descent wich is the first movie that will scare you this year. An orange RSX in great condition passed me WOT and it sounded pretty good. Luck has it the light turns red infront of us so i scoot over and roll the window down. Since i had 4 guys in the car all close to about 200 i just told him i wanted to see what hes got cuz the car sounded like the normal bolt ons. He asked if i had a turbo  its probably the whine the engine has but i dunno. Watched the light on cross traffic turn yellow and braught it up to about 2k-3k and dropped it. Stayed with him all the way through second then i let off cuz the speed limit was 50 and i didnt really want to be late for the movie. He surprisingly was only about a car ahead of me when i gave up ...thought he would cream me

base RSX isnt that quick
If it was a Type-S it would be a different story

what i dont understand is the base RSX is freaking piss ass slow... but how in the hell does an extra 40 or so hp make it a supposed fwd monster some of the honda guys make it out to be? silly

Right around a 15 second 1/4. A good driver might be a few ticks below 15 a bad driver a few ticks above.

PuckPuck did, IIRC, 14.7 in a stock RSX-S.

RSX-S is a decent car. They're actually well put together..

The base model ain't worth a piss though.

Goodyear gatorback belts are notorious for making a supercharger-like whine in the engine bay in our cars.

The difference is, you give someone an RSX-S instead of an RSX, and despite only being 40 more HP, they now think they are capable of racing F1 cars and the Saturn V rocket into orbit because it's OMG SO POWERFUL AND FAST.

I don't think many of us have any illusions of the limitations of the Cougar. We enjoy it, work with it, and do what we can to make it faster than people thought.

yeah. but u go to a honda forum, and a lot of the guys on there realize what exactly there are driving, and what it can do in stock form, and what it is capable of. I just think that most of the ones who will race every car they see, are the ones who are just stupid. hence why some of the guys on here with the fastest cars rarely street race.

Beings that I don't know my Vette's all that well, it was a mid-90's Vette. I ran in to the dude a couple weeks later, and I found out he's got 153k on the engine, he's basically beating on it to try to get it to tear loose, and he's got 2.73 gears on it , so that explains some of it.
