Actually, I wanna know this as well.
See, I have a remote start and I use it to heat & cool the car. Thing is, it has a cutoff that shuts the car off if the RPM's dip too low (700). But if the A/C is on then it's always going to dip below that number when the compressor kicks on.
Is there a way to tighten the cable to get 1-200 more RPM's out of it at idle?

You can adjust the throttle stop Scully, to up the idle.

You see the sett screw in the center of all the pics? well that is what you need to adjust. Bad part? You are going to have to try(carefully) to grab iit from behind with visegrips to turn it, ot try to cut a slot in it so you can adjust it with a screwdriver.. Looking from the front of the throttle body you will want to trun it counter clockwise.

no problem, it would be best to remove the throttle body all together and remove that set screw and replace it with one that will accept an allen wrench for adjustment.

hmmm...youd think youd be able to just adjust the idle point, what happened to my sisters lincoln, was it was dying becuz it idled too low so we had a mechanic adjust the idle point, and now its fine?

Technically they are adjusting the cars idle point.

You shouldn't touch that set screw. That is set so the throttle plate closes all the way and seals. The idle is controlled by the 1/2 pipe that comes off the rubber accordian intake and goes to the IAC (Idle Air Control valve). Adjusting that screw is not a good idea. The IAC's aren't the best in our cars and can cause problems if they begin to stick. Pull it off the back of the intake manifold and clean it out with some WD40.

Blackcoog is right. You don't want to try to control the idle by tightening the throttle cable or adjusting the screw. The IAC controls the idle via input from the computer and if your idle is not right, it is not working properly. I don't know if the computer can be reprogrammed to change the idle speed.
