It is an older 99' Cougar with the return style fuel system. MTX, leather (rough), very clean dash, sport package (4-wheel disk brakes and no top speed lim.). I'm leaving in 7 days (July 24th) and I really am trying to get rid of the car. The car itself has 110,000 miles, and the paint is a little bit rough (rock chips, and a couple strips where the paint is missing). The engine runs well...but it does not have its tune, which is completely mandatory for this engine due to it's #24 injectors.

I see that you are having an issue with backfire. I had the same problem with my car and turned out I had two of the wires backwards, even after I double and triple check the routing. I somehow missed the the back bank of the coil is 465 where as I had it 456. I showed the diagram to a couple other people and they missed it too.

I also had an issue with backfiring after I washed the motor off. It turned out that I got the EGR sensor wet and it threw a code saying insufficient EGR air flow. I cleared the code and haven't had an issue since then.

Maybe you have the same issues? My car was running ok with the stock ECU / no secondaries / 24# injectors. I didn't have any check engine light on, but stalled a little coming off of revs because of the missing secondaries.
