Car care? maybe? So I need to find something to get my insurance cheaper. What does everyone have? I'm 22 and I think I only have like 1 ticket on my record and that was when i was 19. I pay $200/month.:banghead: That's way too much right now, w/ child support, cell phone, car payment, and my credit card(s). I had to take my car off insurance and put myself on my mom's SUV. I pay only $60/month to drive her Suzuki Grand Vitara. Its like a 2005. I hate it but its way cheaper than my car. But its hard to meet a girl these days and take her out in my mom's car (long story why I even moved back home, but i wont get into that). I need my Coug back. Who does everyone have?:banghead: I have state farm. I just did the steer clear program just the other day and that should bring me down to $170/month. I want to get it lower and I'll leave state farm if I can find it cheaper. Thanks everyone...

I have Columbia insurance and I pay $50/month. Put yourself on as a part time driver on the Cougar under your mom's insurance, it'll lower your premium a whole lot, cause thats what I do.

part of it may be because you are in Pierce County. When I moved from Portland up to that area, my insurance doubled just because of the area - and I was in a suburb... not even the middle of a bad neighborhood or something.
Was told Pierce Co. has the highest car thefts per capita in the country and that was the reason for the higher rates there.

Yikes....that is high, sorry I can't help you out. I also have State Farm and pay around $70/month and that includes my renters insurance....but I'm also 32 years old and my Cougar is driven less than 7,000 miles per year.

Good Luck

with insurance, it depends on many factors, so even though someone is in the same boat as you they may get it for less... i'm 18, have state farm, and pay $45.22/mo. for full coverage.

this thread was actually 1st (july) and the other was the repost. both should be locked because it's totally irrelevant to know what others are paying for insurance.:lock:

I disagree.

Insurance is something which is required for our vehicles (due to laws) just like gas and others. It would just be like asking what price has people come across for a set of wheels or a sound system.

It will vary based on many factors (location, insurance company, driving record, etc) which maybe hard to get a good comparison with everyone on the board because their factors will differ but at least it might give a good indication of which insurance companies might give a cheaper rate.

The only problem with this post is it's in the wrong section. Should be put elsewhere (General Info comes to mind).

people has said everything from payint $30/month to $300/month.

exactly my point.
people has said everything from payint $30/month to $300/month.

Which is fine and all.

But let me ask you this though: what’s the difference between asking what someone had purchased a set of tires for their car and what people are paying for insurance?

Both have different factors that contribute to what the final outcome is but in a general sense both are asking the same thing: what a person shelled out their hard earned cash for.

My point is this: The thread should not be locked because it’s not irrelevant.
It's a relevant as anything else that involves our cars. Further input might prove helpful to not only the originator of the thread but to someone else who might have the same question.
