View Full Version : Me vs 50th aniv. Mustang

There isn't much to tell about this race. I was driving with another Cougar behind me that I was wanting to race. Then I seen a Mustang come flying around that Cougar and gets beside me and we get caught at a traffic light.
It was this hot ass chick checking me out smiling and waving. I just nodded my head at her and noticed on the side of it it had the 50th aniversary badge on it. I guess she seen me notice the badge and reved it up. So I rev mine back at her. We start watching the light and when it hit green we both took off.
I got the jump off the line. The nose of her car was at my door. Half way through 2nd she pulled her nose up to my front fender. At this point I thought well she got me. Then I hit 3rd and we steady out side by side. I hit 4th and start to pull on her and I get in front of her. We top a hill and seen a cop. My radar detector just starts fliping out. So we both turn off the road taking different directions. Never seen the cop again atleast

sounds to me like the girl just didn't want you to feel bad, and hurt your ego by getting beat in a street race by a girl :rofl: or she was just driving normal

The thing is it was a V6 Mustang. Not the GT model.

1. There's no 50th anniversary Mustang
2. Unless there is turbo or nitrous, even a well-cammed Zetec Cougar doesn't put out enough power to meet a V6 Mustang evenly.
Make sure you guys keep it civil so I don't have to lock this one too.

Maybe 35th? That sounds better and was actually released.
That's why my Dad's 01 still has a 35th Anniversary guage cluster in it.

What time did you run at the track before? I'll guess maybe 16.0

He could be talking about the 40th edition that came out in 04. It had special badges on the fenders.....and would still stomp a I4 Cougar. He is talking like he has all this secret stuff done to his car, yet he has his mod list in his sig....which is nothing special. At best he runs 15.5...I would venture to say he is more in the low 16s range. Easily beatable by a 3.9 or 3.8 (both were in 04), with a 4R70W tranny.

I think that's what he was referring to as well. They DO have the 40th Ann. Ed. or what not. It could have easily been a type/misread.
I have a friend with a similar modded zetec, a few more goodies to boot. It's not THAT fast I can tell you. My automatic still beats him on the freeway. However, you did race from a stop, so I'll give you that.

he's just got a thing called "zetecism". it's a condition in which one thinks their zetec motor actually produces enough hp and tq to beat any other decent automobile. unfortunately, I had this at one point in time. but after enough help, I was able to realize I had a problem. and that problem, was a slow a$$ car. hopefully one day soon he will realize he has a problem as well, and will be able to move on from this problem. and sh!t. i'm drunk as hell, so I must be tellin the truth. :rofl:
