When I bought my car, the dealership didn't have the remote unlock/lock/trunk/panic keypad, so I was given one for my birthday. The directions are to turn the car from OFF to RUN 4 times in 6 seconds, then press a button on the keypad to set it (and you do that 4 times so all the buttons are set). For some reason, I can't even get one of them to set:confused: . Is there something I could be doing wrong? I tried it many times and it's just not working. Anyone else have experience with this? Thanks for any help.

How-To from Cougardb:
Cycle the ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within six seconds, then turn it back to OFF. The alarm light will stay on to confirm programming mode. Press any button on the first transmitter. Alarm light will flash to confirm transmitter programmed. Press any button on second transmitter. (Up to four transmitter total possible) Turn ignition to ON. Alarm light will turn off to confirm end of programming mode. If you car didn't come with remote keyless entry, then I don't know if this will work. If it did, but you just didn't get a transmitter, then it should work.

I actually have a paper around here somewhere that might help you, I'll keep an eye out for it. Mine came with 1 door locker but I bought two more and added them into the system. For some reason my alarm light was working when I got it then after a few days it didn't work anymore... I've sorta forgotten about it and now I gotta figure out what is going on there.

Well my car is capable of having a keypad, it's just I bought it used and the dealership didn't have it. My alarm light blinks all the time, so how will I know when if I'm doing it right?

after you program, you have to wait 20 seconds or something, if i remember correctly then when you click a button on the pad, it'll work. i programmed 2 of em just the other day.

but i can't even get it into the programming mode...2 friends have also tried to do it for me but it has not worked for them either. i've decided to take it into a dealership and let them figure it out, they said they'd do it for free. thanks for all your help.
