my 02 atx has bit the dust. i have a 00 or a 01 tranny, not for sure which one, and i cant get the tc to line up with my 02 crank. my question is do i need to buy a tc for a 02 or can i change something else to make this tranny work?and will it even work? it is not out of a 99 because all sensors are in the same postion as my 02. i know the tc pilot has a C stamped on it(new tranny from junkyard) and my original has an H. i tried changing the flexplate but this did no good and i still cant get this tranny flush to my engine due to the torque converter. i really would not like to buy a brand new tc because i would have to wait like 2 weeks for one and they are expensive compared to going to a junkyard and getting the part for free due to the jack*** that told me the new tranny was out of a 02 cougar.he told me he would give me any part off the engine that would make the new tranny work. thanks for all the help.

Like I said in my PM- You may have a different sized pilot bushing (are they even used on the 2.5L???)

I would seriously try CEG (http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php)- They're more accustom tot he ATXs and I'm sure they've had this same issue.

Good luck.
