Contour Forum topic (http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=zetecperf&Number=1285231&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=2&fpart=all)

A guy on the Contour forums just bought a SVTF JRSC cheap and is modding it up to fit his Tour. He's making this post of what it takes to make it work and so far it looks good. Not a huge fan of the JRSC's, but if you can get a deal like he did, it's hard to hit 200whp for cheaper.

EDIT: Remember, the SVTF kit uses a bigger blower than the stock Focus kit, so it has more potential.

cool, but what would the advantage of going this route instead of the pwsc which is a direct bolton, and provides an advertised 222hp ( to the wheels)

You can get a used SVTF kit much cheaper than the PW kit. I'm also, as yet, unsure of the exact "bolt-on" status of the Powerworks kit. I'll believe it when somebody buys one and installs it onto a Tour or Cougar.

The more people experiment like this the better it gets for the whole community. We need to expand the knowledge base. Just cause something works for the Focus, that doesn't always translate to our engines. We already know the base JRSC kit fits, but it's weak, so no point really. If the SVTF kit can be fit, that's a much better deal, expecially if you can get a good price for one. If you can get one for around $2k less than the PW, it's price/power makes it a slightly better buy.

I'd still like somebody to try the Vortech kit though, that would also be cool to do.

Man I can't wait to pay the cougar off for the Fun Mods as this.
