This guys speeding by, no deal. We eventually hit a light, you know, one of those awkward lights where you're not sure what the car next to you is going to do. The light turns green and I ease on the gas and slowly accelerate. He's just sitting there at my quarter panel. I give a little more gas and he stays in my rear quarter panel area. I then kick it and promptly let off. Guessing he didn't want to run. I hear him floor it while I'm slowing down and I floor it again. Stay even for a second and pull about two cars.

I figured he wasn't trying, so I'm slowing back down to try and ease up next to him again. Again, he stays in my rear quarter panel blind spot just pacing me. He floors it and I react once he's at my side since I can't hear his car over mine. He never gets his rear beyond my nose. Reel him in easily and I'm accelerating from him like crazy. I don't put quite a car on him and brake, my point proven, no need in speeding more then needed. We then cruise side by side until we hit a light. He never looks over the whole time, I gave the thumbs up anyway as I turn right and he turned left.

It must've been an automatic or something. How easily I kept this guy from pulling on me, caught up with him.

The Coug has proven to run 15.5-15.7 in quarters stock, so we can leave the 16 flat out now :tongue:

My car only runs a 16.5... that's slow imo, and yes it's an auto. It is modded though.

However, in my defense, my car feels it pulls the best between 20mph-70mph, before and after that it bogs. I need a tune.

Seriously shadowfox, what were you calling b.s. to? A level 10 won't necessarily make your car any faster, you're still going to have more parasitic loss than a 5 speed. However, you should be able to safely run more power through it without failure. A chip would do more for you then anything. What other plans do you have for it? Nitrous wouldn't be a bad bet, if researched and done right, now that you have a beefy tranny.

I got my ass handed to me by one last saturday by about a car length. Of course, he had a bit mroe engine work and a fully builty suspension. I did better against him then the last gen twin turbo RX7 we were cruising with though.

Oh. I'm sure if my car was stock vs. this 240, it would've been a close race. Honestly I don't even know if it was an auto or 5 speed, wasn't paying too much attention. The way he was driving indicated it was (pimp ghetto style left shoulder in the air on the wheel and right shoulder slouched back) but I've known people that drive their automatics like that. So yea, then again, this thing was older so I'm sure the age of the thing showed some wear.
