2 guys at work want to race for $50 each. One has a 94-01 integra LS with 3" greddy exhaust short shifter and possible V2 intake. the other has a 1.8 V-tec with exhaust and maybe something eles.
both have a stick
I have a 2000 V6 with I/H/E MTX
I think I should win both easy but I just wanted your opinions and it will be done at the track I think Or hope

Go for it Paul Walker! Just don't blow the welds on the intake manifold!

Usualy I would say no, don't race for money.
But these guy's seem to be running off hopes and dreams.
Verdict? Do it, it'll be like taking candy from a baby.
Keep your AC MAX ON HIGH WITH FULL HEAT ALL THE TIME.
When your side by side ready to race, turn it off.
Edit: Don't race the GSR. I didn't fully understand your post until now. But as for that first guy, that's a diffrent story.

Reason behind that one? Stock for stock I raced my friends GS a few years ago and we were pretty close the whole time and i came out ahead in the end...

sorry its not a GSR its a civic which is a 1.6L v-tec I think. rated at 160 hp stock. what scares me are the difference in gears

Why?
and I think you should be able to take them both call them on and up the stakes to $100

He said 1.8 vtec integra so I instantly thought he ment the GSR.
But thank you for pointing out you ment the 1.6vtec.
So I'll take it he has the the later 90's early 00's civic si?
Or you mean he has the infamous b16 in a civic(hatch, coupe).
When I first started racing I would run 15.8-16.0 and I would lost by a hair to si's. But now with practice, I've reached 15.60 with the exact same way I was when I was getting those previous times. And their the ones losing by a hair.
You just need to elaborate on the "and maybe something else"
Shell out some full details and I'll give you a good run down on what it should run.
Considering I'm the only one out of my friends who doesnt own a civic I get to spend alot of time with hondas on and off the track. :flushed:
On a final note, the big game maker is the driver. Belive me it seems funny, but I get too see tons of cars you wouldn't belive what they run. Hopefully you have a time slip of some sort.
Mazda RX8 15.5 was his best time with constant 15.7-15.8
Jetta 1.8t 16.2 best with constant 16.4+
the list is endless my friends.
And a few cougars run 16.0+ stock(from my observations on this site, I've yet to see one actually race).
p.s. Topjoe, why on the - I wouldnt race for money or -keep your heat on high.

the heat on high pulls the heat from the engine keeping it cooler. but turned off when about to race keeps it from drazing power. make sure your windows are up too.

Also remove your spare tire & make sure all extra power is off Radio, A/c-Heater etc.
Remember the cougar weighs more so lose as much weight as possible even if it means from yourself also! lol

NO!! if it is a newer civic U Will LOSE!!!!, Trust me U WILL LOSE. even if he just has an intake. U WILL LOSE those little rice boxes are decieving, a friend of mine had a bone dry civic than he added an injen CAI And he smoked me, civic benefit a lot from dat stupid intake..... Im Telling You if u only have i/h/e i would not run, You may beat him but it will be by chance, U need something more to be safe.
P.S. if u want to race him(DONT DO IT FROM A DEAD STOP!) Then he will really bag you. Get him on a 20 mph roll everytime.

No worries about the 'Teg man, i gotta buddy from my work with a '90 RS we both made a right turn and hit it (I just left it in second, not from a stop), sort shifting i pulled perty dam hard from behind him and we came even at the top of second (this is me being nice) blew right passed him (although he claims I wouldnt have won if he had a third) but yeah still made a joke of his car :)
BTW he's got just exhaust and no vetch, but my buddie in a Cavi (I/E) beat a vtech teg, and I beat the Cavi no problem with a faulty DPFE sensor, so I was losing power due to my car not burning all my exhaust fumes.
Now as for the civic... (http://www.albeedigital.com/supercoupe/articles/0-60times.html)
1999 Honda Civic Si 7.5 15.7
2002 Honda Civic Si 7.6 15.8 (R&T July '02)
sounds like a drivers race... but I think you have the upperhand, esp. if you ditch the spare and use all the other tips the rest of the members have been giving ya.
Then again you'll win $50 from the Teg, and if you lose $50 from the civic, you break even... but you still have to live with losing to a civic lol :)
hope this all makes sence.

the civic will beat you...My friend has one with i/e/h and when my wrx was stock we would stay dead even on a 60 mph pull. They are nasty on the top end.

Take the 50 you win from the one kid and pass along to the other kid... in the end you'll hve had some fun and kicked at least one cars ass... who knows, hit your shifts right and maybe you'll have 100$ in your pocket...

sweet deal man.. yeah and the civic dude could miss a shift too. I raced a RX-8 and that driver sucked, got him off the line (shouldn't have happened) and stayed ahead through 1st and 2nd..he wasnt pulling at all and he missed third
so ya never know!
